What's new.

Every release, newest first. We ship often — most updates reach you automatically, without an App Store or Play Store update.

  1. Your wallet, and cards worth looking at

    • NewA Wallet now sits beside your avatar in Personal, holding every card and bank account in one pouch. Swipe to bring a card to the front and everything below it — issuer, network, statement day, payment due, spend this cycle and every transaction on it — follows that card.
    • NewFourteen card backgrounds to choose from, in three families: Dark, Vivid and Light. You pick from a gallery showing a live preview of your own card, not an abstract swatch.
    • NewEvery background is checked for text contrast against the WCAG AA accessibility standard, including underneath the decorative pattern — so your card number stays readable whichever one you like the look of, and the contrast figure next to the picker is measured rather than claimed.
    • New“Paid with” on an expense records which card or account it came from. It never changes the split or anyone's balance — it just means each card gets its own transaction list and cycle total.
    • ImprovedThe Personal area's monthly budget block is now a horizontal rail of small cards — Budget, Income, Safe to spend, Savings — which you can reorder or hide.
    • ImprovedAdd more than one income and give each a name (Salary, Freelance, and so on) instead of a single figure.
    • ImprovedAdding or editing a card opens as a drawer from the bottom, with Save always reachable instead of below the fold.
    • ImprovedCards you set a colour on before backgrounds existed keep the look they had — the old colours are matched to the closest new background.
  2. Try Pro free for 3 days

    • NewPro now starts with a 3-day free trial. Try AI receipt scanning, unlimited groups and expenses, analytics and everything else — cancel any time before the trial ends and you won't be charged.
  3. Free trials & smarter subscriptions

    • NewTrack free trials: mark when a trial ends and we'll warn you before the first charge, so nothing converts silently. Trials don't count towards your spending until they bill.
    • NewChoose how many days before a renewal you want reminding — a yearly plan with a long cancellation window no longer gets a one-day warning.
    • NewRecord extra usage on a subscription as individual line items you can add and remove, so a heavy month is itemised without changing the plan price.
    • New"How to cancel" guidance on popular subscriptions, with a direct link to the right cancellation page.
    • NewOverlap alerts spot when you're paying for the same thing twice — the same service tracked twice, or two services that do the same job.
    • FixedAdding extra usage to an upcoming renewal no longer records it against last month's charge.
    • FixedA one-off usage spike on a subscription no longer shows up on past or future renewals — it stays in the period it happened.
  4. Personal calendar, bank accounts & a payment-accuracy fix

    • NewPersonal now has filter pills — All, Expenses, Subscriptions and Calendar — so you can look at just what you care about.
    • NewA month calendar in Personal: every day with spending is marked, and tapping a date shows exactly what you spent that day.
    • NewSave up to 5 bank accounts (was 3), and choose which of them each group can see.
    • NewWhen you settle by bank transfer you can now record which account the money went into — it shows on the payment details for both people.
    • NewSubscriptions you pay for inside a group now appear in Personal at your share, so your own spending is complete.
    • ImprovedSettle up only offers payment methods the other person can actually receive on, instead of a fixed list.
    • ImprovedChanging an expense's category now shows every category, whatever kind of group you're in.
    • ImprovedGroup activity shows expenses and payments together in one timeline, and a payment opens its full detail with the transfer proof.
    • ImprovedBank logos across the institution directory are now real logos served from our own network.
    • FixedA crash when settling the last balance in a group could cause the same payment to be recorded twice. Fixed, with a safeguard so a payment can never be saved twice.
    • FixedExpenses or payments deleted by someone else now disappear on your device instead of lingering until the next day.
    • FixedMonthly totals now follow your device's timezone, so a late-night expense no longer lands in the wrong month.
    • FixedA subscription tracked in both a group and Personal is counted once, not twice.
    • FixedEmails for payments received and group activity are sending again.
  5. Fairer, tamper-proof free limits

    • ImprovedFree-plan limits are now enforced by our servers rather than on the device, so everyone gets the same allowance.
    • ImprovedYour monthly AI receipt-scan allowance is counted server-side and no longer resets if the app is reinstalled.
  6. Redesigned emails

    • NewEight redesigned emails — welcome, payment reminders, renewal notices and more.
    • ImprovedButtons in our emails now open straight into the app instead of a browser page.
    • Fixed"Rate EconoGlance" now reliably opens the App Store or Play Store listing.
  7. Smarter receipt scanning

    • ImprovedReceipt scanning no longer guesses when a receipt is genuinely ambiguous — it asks you one quick question instead.
    • ImprovedTidied up the app so every visible feature is one you can actually use today.
  8. A reliable upgrade screen

    • FixedThe upgrade screen no longer flickers or closes itself, and only ever shows prices confirmed by the store for your region.
    • FixedPush notifications keep working when a different account signs in on the same phone.
    • ImprovedSettings now shows your plan term and next billing date.

What's new in EconoGlance

This changelog lists every EconoGlance release with the date it shipped, so you can see exactly what changed and when. Entries are tagged New, Improved or Fixed, and written in plain language rather than release jargon — if something you reported got fixed, you should be able to find it here.

Most updates arrive automatically the next time you open the app, so you rarely need to install anything from the App Store or Play Store. If you're deciding whether EconoGlance now does the thing you need, or you want to check whether a bug you hit has been resolved, start here. Have an idea for what we should build next? We read every email — a lot of what ships started as a request from someone splitting rent, a trip or dinner with friends.
