The website uses essential cookies plus two analytics tools: Google Analytics 4, which sets cookies, and Ahrefs Web Analytics, which does not. There are no advertising cookies and no cross-site tracking anywhere, and you can opt out of analytics without losing any part of the site. The mobile app uses no third-party trackers.

1. What cookies are

Cookies are small files a website stores on your device, and "local storage" is a similar technology. They let a site remember basic things and understand, in aggregate, how it is used. This policy explains how EconoGlance uses them.

2. Cookies and analytics on the website

We use two analytics tools on econoglance.com, and only one of them sets cookies. Naming them is more useful than a vague category, so here they are.

  • Essential — needed for the site to work and stay fast, and to remember basic preferences. These cannot be switched off.
  • Google Analytics 4 (provided by Google) — tells us which pages people find useful and whether they go on to the App Store or Google Play. It sets cookies named _ga and _ga_<id>, which last up to two years and hold a randomly generated identifier so a returning visit is not counted as a brand-new one. Data is processed by Google. We have not enabled Google Signals, advertising personalisation, or any Google Ads integration.
  • Ahrefs Web Analytics — a second, simpler measure of page popularity. It is cookieless: it sets nothing on your device and does not identify you.

We use no advertising or marketing cookies, run no ads anywhere in the product, and do not sell data collected through cookies. We do not track you across other websites.

What we actually look at is aggregate: which guides get read, which comparison pages lead to a download, and which countries visitors come from. We have no interest in individual browsing behaviour and no way to tie it to an EconoGlance account, because the website does not sign you in.

3. Opting out of analytics

You can stop the analytics cookies without affecting anything else on the site.

The simplest route is your browser: block or clear cookies for econoglance.com, or use a private window. Most browsers also offer a "do not track" or tracking-protection setting that blocks Google Analytics outright, and common content blockers do the same. Google also publishes an official opt-out browser add-on that disables Google Analytics on every site you visit.

None of this affects your ability to use the site, read any guide, or use the calculators — none of them require analytics, an account, or cookies beyond the essential ones.

4. The mobile app

The EconoGlance mobile app does not use advertising cookies or third-party trackers. It uses on-device storage only to keep you signed in and to make the app work. In line with Apple's App Tracking Transparency, we do not track you across other companies' apps or websites.

5. Managing cookies

You can clear or block cookies in your browser settings at any time. Blocking essential cookies may stop parts of the site working. Questions? Email support@econoglance.com.

6. Changes

We may update this policy and will post the new version here with a new date. See also our Privacy Policy.

App Store & Google Play compliance

EconoGlance is built and operated to comply fully with the Apple App Store Review Guidelines and with the Google Play Developer Program Policies and Developer Distribution Agreement.

This includes, without limitation, their requirements on: privacy and data handling (Apple Guideline 5.1 and Google Play's User Data policy and Data safety disclosures); account and data deletion (Apple Guideline 5.1.1(v) and Google Play's account-deletion requirement — see our Data deletion page); auto-renewable subscriptions (Apple Guideline 3.1.2 and Google Play's subscription policies); App Tracking Transparency (we do not track you across other companies' apps or websites, and use no advertising identifiers or third-party ad SDKs); and children's privacy.

We are committed to 100% compliance with these programs. If any part of the app or these documents is ever found not to meet a store requirement, we will promptly correct it and bring the app into full compliance.
